Kings sign Jae Crowder
The Sacramento Kings have signed veteran forward Jae Crowder, the team announced Wednesday.
Crowder played 50 games with the Milwaukee Bucks last season, averaging 6.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.
The Kings have struggled out of the gate, ranking 12th in the Western Conference with an 8-10 record. Over the past two contests, Sacramento's bench has been outscored 82-31 and ranks 28th in points per game, according to ESPN's Bobby Marks.
Crowder has averaged 9.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and a steal over 12 NBA campaigns. He's made two trips to the Finals - as part of the Miami Heat in 2020 and with the Phoenix Suns in 2021.
The Kings added veteran players around De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis over the offseason - including six-time All-Star DeMar DeRozan and sharpshooter Doug McDermott.
DeRozan won't play Wednesday against the Minnesota Timberwolves because of back inflammation, and veteran big man Trey Lyles will be re-evaluated in three-to-four weeks because of a Grade 1 calf strain, the team announced, according to Brenden Nunes of Sactown Sports 1140.
